An excellent choice for a wildlife garden, this hardy perennial is a magnet for Butterflies and pollinating insects. Scabious caucasica var. alba is a white form of the traditional Pincushion flower that is so often found in cottage garden planting schemes. The large white blooms are produced on wiry stems that make excellent cut flowers. Plant Scabious in large groups to produce a lovely billowing effect in the middle of sunny borders. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow

Grow Scabious plants in a sunny position on fertile, well drained, neutral to alkaline soil that is not excessively wet in winter.

Water scabious plants until they are fully established. Deadhead faded scabious flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring.
