This gorgeous forest cacti bursts into a shower of starry, irridescent flowers in the spring. Buds at the end of each segment continue to flare open for many weeks, bringing an explosion of bright colour to a sunny windowsill indoors. Composed of flattened, branching segments it is often confused with the better-known Christmas Cactus, except the Easter Cactus has more rounded leaves and the flowers are much more open and star-like. These gaertneri hybrids come in a range of jewel-like, shining colours from white to pink, red, lavender, orange and peach. Maximum height and spread: 30cm (12”).

Please note:- we cannot guarantee the colour which will be sent.

1 x 9cm Potted Plant (20cm tall) (KA2935)

How to Grow

Grow in bright indirect light on an indoor windowsill with a daytime temperature of 75-80°F (24-27°C) and a nightime temperature of 55 to 60° F. (13-16° C.). Keep the soil moist but not saturated, allowing the compost to dry out a bit between waterings. Feed with a cactus fertiliser every month during the growing season.

This cactus requires a resting period to induce flowering. From November to January reduce watering and provide cooler temperatures. In January put your plant in a spot with a temperature of approximately 10° and at least 12-14 hours of darkness. This will initiate the formation of new flower buds. Move the plant to a warmer position in March to recommence flowering.
