Flowering Months

This low-growing, spreading perennial makes a useful addition to the front of borders where it will create superb ground cover. Prunella grandiflora 'White' boasts pure white blooms in summer which are loved by pollinating insects. The dark green foliage is semi-evergreen retaining many of its leaves throughout winter. Commonly known as Self-Heal, this is an excellent, low-maintenance cottage garden plant with plenty of old-fashioned charm. Height: 30cm (12in). Spread: 50cm (20in).

How to Grow

Plant Prunella in borders in sun or partial shade. Self-heal will happily tolerate almost any soil except those that are excessively dry or waterlogged.

Water self heal plants regularly until fully established. Prunella will self-seed freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of self heal flowers as the blooms fade.
