Sowing

Sow April to May outdoors where they are to flower. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth before sowing. Sow 6mm (0.25 inch) deep, in rows 30cm (12 inches) apart.

For spring/summer flowering pot plants sow in a cool greenhouse or conservatory in late summer/early autumn. Grow on cool in full light and water sparingly.

When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 15cm (6 inches) apart.
