Description

Particularly valuable for shady spots, these well-loved perennials are treasured for their colourful leaves that remain semi-evergreen throughout the year. A display of nectar-rich flowers float upon on wiry stems from late spring through summer, attracting pollinating insects to the garden.

Heuchera make useful perennials for softening the front of borders or adding a splash of colour to winter containers. This great value collection contains a delightful mix of contrasting foliage colours and textures for a superb display. Plant them en masse to create a colourful tapestry of dense ground cover.

Heuchera Saver Collection contains:

  • Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ – Fine sprays of creamy white flowers stand out against glossy, deep maroon-black foliage. RHS AGM. Height: 45cm (18in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
  • Heuchera ‘Silver Gumdrop’ – Deep bronze-purple foliage infused with almost iridescent silver. Vivid hot pink flowers bring out the purple in the leaves and contrast superbly with the silver. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
  • Heuchera ‘World Caffe Americano’ – An exquisite variety boasting ruffled foliage in a gorgeous and unusual shade of pinkish caramel. Height and spread: 35cm (14in).
  • Heuchera ‘Cherry Cola’ – A compact variety boasting rich, vivid red foliage and flowers to match, creating a year-round pop of colour. RHS AGM. Height: 20cm (8in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
  • Heuchera ‘Cinnabar Silver’ – Shimmering silver foliage with a contrasting pattern of deep green to purple veins. Young leaves emerge pinkish bronze before taking on their stunning silver sheen, which beautifully offsets the red flowers. Height: 25cm (10in). Spread: 30cm (12in).
  • Heuchera ‘Lime Swizzle’ – A miniature variety producing deliciously fresh, vibrant lime green foliage with an intricate pattern of veining, and creamy white flowers. Height: 20cm (8in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

How to Grow
Heuchera plants dislike soils which are particularly dry or have a tendency to waterlogging. Plant them in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun or semi shade.
More Info
Feed and water coral flower plants regularly until they are fully established.Apply a mulch of well rotted manure around the crown of each plant each spring. Lift and divide clumps of heuchera plants every 3 years in autumn to maintain vigorous, healthy growth.
