Description

Making a dazzling debut at this year’s Chelsea Plant of the Year Competition, is this sizzling new Geum. The double blooms are uniquely ruffled to form flouncy blooms in flaming orange. The flowers dance above neat mounds of weed-suppressing foliage and are held on relatively short stems compared to other varieties making this a tidy and compact Geum. Its neat habit makes it perfect for edging borders and container plantings but it also has an airy feel which lends itself to naturalistic styles, cottage gardens and pond margins where it will attract plenty of beneficial pollinators. Geum ‘Orange Pumpkin’ bears masses of flower stems, reblooming from spring into early autumn. Cutting back old stems after the main flowering period will stimulate even more flowers. Height and spread: 30cm (12in).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant Geums in moist, fertile, well drained soil, adding plenty of compost or well rotted manure to amend heavy clay or sandy soils. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun.
More Info
Water regularly until fully established. Regular deadheading will encourage more flowers to be produced throughout the summer. In spring, lift and divide overcrowded clumps of geum to maintain their vigour.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
