Flowering Months

The sunbeam faces of Gazania ‘Suncarpet’ add a vivid splash of colour to border edges, containers and dry slopes. Masses of golden flowers with an orange halo around the centre, smother carpets of neat foliage. These sizzling Gazanias look fabulous combined with other hot-coloured bedding plants such as marigolds, Californian poppies and nasturtiums. Throw in some exotic climbers such as Thunbergia and Mina lobata, and you’ll be channelling a tropicana vibe keeps swinging all summer. Height and spread: 25cm (10").

How to Grow

Pot up gazania plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When they are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into their final positions in beds, borders and containers. Grow gazania plants in any light sandy, well drained soil in full sun.

Feed and water gazania plants until they are fully established. Regular deadheading of faded gazania flowers will encourage more blooms to be produced.
