Description

An improved version of Echinacea that has large blooms, is free flowering, and strongly branching. The flowers of Echinacea purpurea ‘Primadonna White’ bear ivory petals surrounding a green/yellow central cone.  Flowers are produced all summer from July to September on strong tall stems which them ideal for cutting and adding to floral displays in the home. The dried flower cones also create a strong presence in the border long after the flowers have faded. The nectar-rich blooms are extremely appealing to bees and butterflies, making them great for wildlife planting schemes. Echinacea are especially effective planted in drifts amongst ornamental grasses. Height: 80cm (31"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow echinacea plants in a sunny or semi shaded position on moist, well drained soil. Coneflowers prefer a deep, fertile soil and will benefit from the addition of some well rotted manure or garden compost to soil, prior to planting.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until coneflower plants are fully established. Deadhead faded Echinacea flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back faded flower stems and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Divide overcrowded plants in autumn or spring.
