Description

These specially bred dwarf varieties, Plum Black Amber and Cherry Sylvia, produce deliciously juicy fruits making them ideal for growing in large containers. Imagine an orchard on your own patio!

Height if containerised: 1m (39"). Spread if containerised: 45cm (18"). Height supplied 30-40cm in 9cm pots.

  • Collection comprises:
  • Plum 'Black Amber' - This heavy bearing Plum produces plenty of rounded, firm purple fruits with a deliciously juicy texture. Rootstock: Ferlinane
  • Cherry 'Sylvia' - This dwarf cherry tree is perfect for the patio where it makes a great focal point in spring as pale pink cherry blossom cloaks the branches. Rootstock: Gisella 6

Please note: Patio trees are derived from clonal selections for dwarfism which ensures a particularly compact growth habit of around 1m (39") in height.

2 x 9cm potted Fruit Tree Duo (1 of each variety) (V11754P)

How to Grow
Plant patio fruit trees in 60cm (2’) diameter containers using a good quality compost such as John innes No.3. Alternatively plant them in any well drained soil in a sheltered sunny position. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level, firm them into the ground and water well.
More Info
Feed and water containerised plants regularly. For pruning advice, please see individual product pages. Most fruits trees should be pruned during the winter months when the plants are dormant. However, care should be taken when pruning cherry trees to avoid winter pruning as this leaves cherry trees prone to silver leaf disease.
