Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
The Summer Jazz series of the Trumpet Vine are compact and not as vigorous as other varieties. Campsis tagliabuana 'Fire' has showy red-orange trumpet-shaped flowers which appear from spring, lasting well into autumn. This hardy, deciduous shrub provides a backdrop of mid-green tooth-shaped leaves, which makes this an ideal choice for training up a small trellis or garden wall. Height & Spread: 1.5m (5').

Flowering Months
Once Trumpet Vine plants are established in the border, they will prove to be drought resistant. After planting your Campsis, cut back all stems to 15cm (6") from the ground, to stimulate new growth. Train the strongest new shoots, and remove weaker shoots. After 2 or 3 years, a framework will be established, and you should prune back sideshoots to within 2 or 3 shoots of the main stems. Prune in late winter.
Although Campsis are fully hardy, they will perform better when grown against a warm, sunny wall for added protection and better flowering performance. Plant into moist, but well-drained soil in a sunny position. Alternatively, grow Campsis plants in patio containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.2, and add extra grit for drainage.
