Description

Peruvian Lilies are prized for their exotic, bright blooms which make magnificent cut flowers. Our Nurseryman's Choice Collection offers the opportunity to grow these beauties at a fraction of the usual price. Plant them in patio pots and sunny borders where they will return year after year, getting bigger and better with each summer. Alstroemeria are 'easy to grow' hardy perennials, flowering from summer right through to autumn for a long-lasting, dazzling display. Height: 70cm (27"). Spread: 50cm (19").

To allow us to offer you such a good price, we can't take orders for specific varieties, but whatever we decide to send, you won't be disappointed. Image is for illustration purposes only. On receipt of your plants the varieties will be named.

How to Grow
Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When Alstroemeria plugs are fully rooted into their pots and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Peruvian Lilies outdoors in a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, grow Alstroemeria in containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant. Lift and divide clumps of Peruvian Lily in autumn every third year to maintain their vigour.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
