Apple-blossom pink blooms smother this bushy little shrub in early summer, standing out beautifully against its dark, bronze-green foliage. With a compact growth habit, this reliable variety makes the perfect deciduous shrub for small garden borders and patio pots. Weigela 'Vintage Love' is undemanding and easy to grow, requiring very little maintenance once established. A superb choice for a sunny spot where it will attract pollinating insects to its nectar rich blooms. Height and spread: 120cm (48").

How to Grow

Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.

Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
