Description
Commonly known as False Acacia, this golden-leaved tree makes a colourful specimen plant. The pinnate foliage emerges citrus yellow, and darkens to chartreuse-green before autumn turns it buttery gold. Racemes of white, pea-like flowers appear among the leaves in spring, attracting pollinating insects before being replaced by prominent brown seedpods. Robinia pseudoacacia 'Frisia' is a medium sized deciduous tree with an airy, upright habit. This showy tree is tolerant of most soils and situations provided that it is sheltered from strong winds. Height: 12m (39’). Spread: 8m (26’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant Robinia in sheltered borders in full sun, in any well drained garden soil. Add plenty of well rotted manure to improve heavy clay or light sandy soils.
More Info
Feed and water regularly until fully established. Robinia needs little pruning except for the removal of damaged branches or stems that spoil the shape of the plant. Prune in late summer or early autumn to prevent bleeding. Remove any suckering shoots that appear at the base of the plant to maintain a clear stem.
