Polemonium caeruleum 'Album'Jacob's Ladder

Polemonium caeruleum 'Album' is a dainty perennial that will readily seed about between other plants creating a naturalistic, cottage-garden look. From clumps of sparse foliage arise tall, upright stalks topped with clusters of nodding, white flowers with golden stamens. Flowering in May to June, it makes a charming addition to early summer borders in part shade, woodland gardens or beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. It is perfect for wildlife-friendly gardens as the flowers are a valuable source of early nectar and pollen for insects emerging from hibernation. The pretty foliage of Polemonium caeruleum 'Album' is an attractive feature in itself, forming little leaflets arranged into a ladder pattern which has earned it the name of ‘Jacobs Ladder’.
