Description How to Grow More Info Delivery Reviews
Lightly fragrant, semi-double blooms are splashed with deeper colour at the base of each petal. These 'itoh' peonies cross the exotic looks of tree peonies with the growth habit of herbaceous peonies. Flowering from late spring, they're a lovely addition to borders and attract pollinating insects. This collection includes: 'Cora Louise', 'Canary Brilliants', 'Border Charm' and 'Lollipop'.

Culinary note: The petals can be added to salads, or cooked slightly and sweetened for a treat. Peony water was also once considered a delicacy and the blooms can be floated in punches. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Feed and water peonies regularly until plants are fully established. In exposed positions the stems may require staking to support the large peony flowers. Cut back old foliage in autumn. When growing peonies on light sandy soil, a spring mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost may be applied around the base of the plant, taking care not to bury the crown as this may delay flowering.
Bareroots should be planted at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Grow peonies in a sunny or semi shaded position on fertile, moist, well drained soil. Peony plants prefer a heavy soil that is rich in organic matter. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting. Plant herbaceous peonies so that the top of the crown is just 5cm (2”) below the soil surface, taking care not to plant too deeply as this may prevent or delay peonies from flowering.
