Very Easy! 2014-08-27
I too was surprised at how easy these seeds were to germinate. I always wanted to grow this variety from seed but thought it would be difficult. I put my seed into the fridge after sowing for four weeks. Three germinated within two weeks and 11 seedlings emerged 12 weeks later! The first three plants are already quite busy. The rest I potted up into bigger pots today. I will over winter them in the greenhouse before planting them out. To be on the safe side I always take cuttings of this variety of lavender and overwinter them in the greenhouse. Have patience with these seeds and you will be rewarded!

French Lavender 2011-06-18
I bought French Lavender seeds, 50 in a pack. All my friends had bought French Lavender plants, but they were quite expensive. So I thought I would have a try with the seeds. It stated on the packet seeds could be slow to germinate, between 1 - 5 months and if germination did not occur in the given time, place in fridge. All 50 of my seeds germinated within 1 week and they are happily growing up. It looks like I am going to have 50 French Lavender Plants for under £3.00. What a bargain that was.
