It’s easy to see how this evergreen perennial earned its common name of Corkscrew Rush. The stiff, leafless stems are tightly twisted to give the whole plant a peculiar contorted appearance. In summer the stems bear sprays of insignificant purple-brown flowers. Juncus effusus f. spiralis is a superb architectural specimen plant that works particularly well in the shallow margins of smaller ponds where its curly stems can be fully appreciated. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 60cm (24"). Planting depth: Zones 1 & 2 to 15cm (6") below water level.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
