Description
Exquisite, azure blue flowers rise on delicate stems above a spreading clump of finely cut, blue-green leaves. The slender, tubular flowers of Corydalis flexuosa 'Porcelain Blue' appear in spring, with a second flush in autumn. The blooms are loved by pollinating insects. Unlike many Corydalis, the ferny foliage remains above ground during the growing season with no summer dormancy. This hardy perennial is tough and vigorous if grown in the right position. Perfect for filling gaps at the front of lightly shaded borders, or planting in large groups to create elegant ground cover. Height and spread: 30cm (12”).

How to Grow
Pot up Corydalis plants into larger pots and grow them on in frost free conditions until they are well grown. Gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before transplanting into borders and containers. Grow Corydalis in fertile, humus-rich, well drained soil in a sunny position or in dappled shade. Improve soil conditions by adding plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost prior to planting.
More Info
Water Corydalis plants regularly until they are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of chipped bark or well-rotted garden compost to the base of the plant to help retain moisture in the soil during the growing season. Overcrowded clumps of Corydalis may be divided in autumn or spring if necessary.
