How to Grow
This generous Azalea delivers two bursts of flowers with just a short pause in between, first in spring and again from late summer to autumn. Forming a neat mound of semi-evergreen foliage, Azalea 'Encore Pure White' really earns its place in patio pots and small woodland-type borders, its gleaming white, trumpet-shaped flowers delivering a much longer season of interest than other varieties on a reliably hardy plant. Height and Spread: 75cm (2.4ft).

Grow Azaleas in moist, well drained, acid soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many azaleas can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Where soil conditions are alkaline, Azalea plants are best grown in patio containers, using a mix of ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Azaleas are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
More Info Water Azalea plants regularly throughout the growing season. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Feed Azaleas in spring with a slow release fertiliser for acid-loving plants. Protect plants from cold winter winds. Border grown Azaleas will appreciate an autumn mulch to protect their shallow roots from winter cold. Take care not to mound the mulch too close to the stem as this may cause it to rot.
