Description
Agapanthus 'Brilliant Blue' lives up to its name, with dazzling azure flowers, borne upon stiffly upright stems. The mid green, strap-like leaves form neat clumps of slender foliage that make superb ground cover when grown in dense groups. This exquisite African Lily is a real head turner throughout summer, bringing architectural stature to patio containers and the front of borders. Perfectly hardy, the foliage dies back during winter, returning in the following spring and steadily increasing its spread. Like all Agapanthus, this cultivar also makes a showy cut flower. Height: 45cm (18"). Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .
More Info
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
