How to Grow
Acer palmatum 'Skeeters Broom' is a very popular dwarf Acer noted for its upright, slender habit and its lively display of red-toned foliage which moves through various shades as the seasons progress. The foliage is fine-textured, with leaves that are deeply lobed with long, slender leaflets. The leaves emerge bright red in spring, turn deep burgundy during the summer, and then finish the season with a blaze of ruby red in autumn. Acers are slow growing and make ideal specimens for small gardens and containers where they provide multiple seasons of interest. Height and spread: 150cm (59in) to 250cm (98in).

Grow Acers in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It's important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves.
More Info Water regularly throughout the growing season until acer trees are well established. Protect plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
