This air plant adds an exotic twist to any home interior as a spark-like tuft of narrow silver-green leaves. Tillandsia melanocrater tricolor is a simple but intriguing small evergreen plant which looks good all year round. It also develops vibrant colour hues depending on light levels and produces a tricolour flower. Naturally found growing in the branches of jungle trees, these members of the Bromeliad family survive on moisture and nutrients available in the air. Without the need of soil, they’re perfect for showing off a variety of contemporary ways, such as in a vase, dish of pebbles, wooden planter or nestled into notches in ornamental branches to recreate its natural environment. Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 30cm (12”).

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
These Tillandsia are epiphytic plants which do not require compost to grow. They can be wired or glued onto a suitable support such as wood or an attractive shell. Position airplants in bright, filtered light with good air circulation, at a minimum temperature of 5C (41F).
More Info
Water frequently from spring to autumn by immersing the entire plant in rainwater or misting thoroughly. Allow the plant to completely drain and dry after each watering. Feed monthly by adding a small amount of bromeliad fertiliser to misting water.
