Collection comprises of the following varieties:
Scilla mischtschenkoana 'Tubergeniana (30 bulbs) - One of the earliest bulbs to appear in the garden, flowering from February to March. Each sturdy stem carries a cluster of pretty star-shaped, silvery blue flowers, sporting darker blue stripes along the length of every petal.
Allium Moly (90 bulbs) - A vigorous little allium bearing dense clusters of star-shaped, golden yellow flowers from late spring. Neat clumps of grey-green, strap-like foliage are quick to establish and will rapidly spread to naturalize beneath shrubs and throughout woodland areas. Allium moly is easy to grow, needing little attention throughout the season, and returning in a bigger and better display each year. Bulb size 4/5. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2").
Brodiaea 'Queen Fabiola' (40 bulbs) - Sturdy stems carry multiple clusters of up to 25 lilac-blue flowers. Its long swathes of grassy foliage die back in late spring just as the flowers come into bloom. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 10cm (4").
Oxalis tetraphylla 'Iron Cross' (100 bulbs) - Makes a highly decorative pot plant but is equally effective as ground cover in alpine troughs and rockeries. Height and spread: 15cm (6").
Muscari armeniacum (40 bulbs) - A popular spring bulb that is probably one of the easiest to grow - a clump of grape hyacinths will gradually spread over the years to form a carpet of vivid blue flowers that look stunning planted in a woodland setting or with other spring bulbs needing virtually no maintenance.
