Description

A hardy, low maintenance succulent plant ideal for indoors or out. Enjoy Sempervivum ‘Black’ in patio containers, alpine planters, filling cracks in paving and walls or and a neat and easy-to-care-for houseplant. Once established, these remarkably unfussy plants simply look after themselves, gradually multiplying and spreading over the years to fill their space. Excellent drought tolerance means the need for watering is extremely minimal, if at all! This variety with striking black leaves provides a contemporary look when planted as a feature, as well as working well as a contrast plant when combined with others. The fleshy leaves are black at the tip and green at the base for that subtle hint of colour. A great choice for bringing year-round interest to any sunny spot. Height: 10cm (4”). Spread: 30cm (12”).

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

How to Grow
Houseleeks require extremely good drainage. Grow sempervivum plants in sharply drained, gritty soil in full sun. Hairy species particularly resent cold, wet conditions and are best provided with some protection from winter weather.
More Info
Houseleeks are drought resistant and need little attention throughout the growing season. Divide overcrowded clumps in late spring to encourage their spread.
