Description
How to Grow
Sansevieria is practically bomb-proof, and ideal for busy or neglectful gardeners. This tough plant adapts to lower light levels, can withstand drought and sucks nasty toxins, such as benzene and formaldehyde, out of the air. Standing sentinel with its erect, sword-like foliage, Sansevieria has a simple silhouette which associates well with modern décor.
The foliage of Sansevieria zeylanica is rippled with dark green bands against a pale, silvery-green background, lending it a striking, reptilian appearance. Maximum height: 1.2m (47in). Maximum spread: 50cm (20in).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Sansevieria is an adaptable plant, growing happily in average room temperatures of 15C (60F) - 24C (75F). It prefers a brightly lit position with some sun and some shade througout the day, however it will tolerate full sun or shade if necessary. Sansevieria even copes well with cold draughts, making it suitable for a well used entrance hall.
More Info Sansevieria is a succulent, storing water in its foliage. Too much water can cause the plant to rot, so it is advisable to allow the soil to dry out somewhat between watering. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
