Description

Now gardeners on non-acid soils can enjoy the beauty of Rhododendrons in their borders. Rhododendron 'Bloombux®' (Inkarho Group) is a compact, lime-tolerant variety that thrives in neutral soils up to pH7. This compact variety produces a neat, rounded shrub, cloaked in evergreen foliage. From late spring to early summer, clusters of apple-blossom pink flowers decorate the stem tips and attract pollinating insects to the garden.

Rhododendron 'Bloombux®' makes a fabulous patio plant for a shaded spot, or dotted through the front of woodland borders and wildlife plantings. This versatile variety also tolerates pruning well, making it an excellent alternative to traditional Box hedging. Height and spread: 75cm (30").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Unlike most Rhododendrons, those from the Inkharo Group can be grown on soils that range from acid to neutral up to pH7. They will thrive in moist, well drained, soil that has been enriched with plenty of well rotted organic matter. Choose a position in semi or dappled shade with shelter from cold drying winds. Many dwarf Rhododendrons can cope with a sunny position provided that the soil remains reliably moist. Rhododendrons are surface rooting so it is important to avoid planting them too deeply.
More Info
Water Rhododendron plants regularly throughout the growing season. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Feed Rhododendrons in spring with a slow release fertiliser for acid-loving plants. Protect plants from cold winter winds. Border grown Rhododendrons will appreciate an autumn mulch to protect their shallow roots from winter cold. Take care not to mound the mulch too close to the stem as this may cause it to rot. Inkharo Group Rhododendrons respond well to pruning - trim them immediately after flowering in summer.
