Commonly known as Parrots Beak for its exotic beak-like flowers that are borne in pairs throughout summer. The fine, silvery foliage makes a showy contrast to its unusual blooms. Lotus berthelotii forms a bushy, trailing plant that makes an exotic display in hanging baskets and containers. Although perennial, Parrot’s Beak is a tender plant which will require a minimum temperature of 11C (52F). Overwinter potted plants in a cool conservatory or frost free greenhouse. Alternatively enjoy this unusual plant as an annual which can be discarded at the end of the summer. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow
Pot up plugs and grow them on in warm, bright, frost free conditions. When plants are well grown, and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days, before planting in their final positions. Choose a sunny position on moist, well drained soil.
