Flowering Months

One of the best known of its species, Kolkwitzia amabilis 'Pink Cloud' holds a prestigious RHS AGM. From May to June the arching stems play host to masses of pale pink, trumpet-shaped blooms. As the flowers fade, the dark green foliage makes an elegant backdrop for other summer-flowering shrubs and perennials. This magnificent deciduous shrub is commonly known as the Beauty Bush and makes a fine addition to large borders, or grown as a stand-alone specimen plant. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 4m (13').

How to Grow

Grow Kolkwitzia in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Plants will tolerate a wide range of soils, from sand to chalk and clay.

Kolkwitzia plants are low-maintenance and easy to grow. After flowering, prune flowered shoots back to vigorous sideshoots.
