From recent breeding comes this stunning hydrangea with truly unique colouring and flower shapes. Masses of unusual purple-pink-blue flowers are produced on dark, almost black stems - and the colours look different every time you look at it! This is a hydrangea plant that will provide total colour coverage from June to November once it's established. For incredible garden performance and really unusual colour-changing flowers, this is the perfect hydrangea for gardeners looking for something different to plant in borders and large containers this season. Height and spread: 1.2m (4').

Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a position in shade or semi-shade, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively, plant Hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in ericaceous compost.
More Info Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with hydrangea foliage may irritate the skin and eyes. Harmful if eaten.
