Description
A fully hardy, spiny, deciduous shrub with pinnate, silver-green leaves and attractive pea like, violet-pink flowers during June and July. As its common name implies it will tolerate salt-laden winds found in coastal areas, making this an excellent choice for a coastal windbreak. The thorny stems make this a useful security plant too. Perfect for planting on free draining soils. Halimodendron will suffer if planted in waterlogged soils. Height and spread: 2m (6’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Halimodendron grows best in a well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil in full sun. Avoid waterlogged soils or soils that sit wet in winter.
More Info
Halimodendron requires little attention once established. Prune out any damaged or dead stems in spring before new growth appears.
