The innovative Fruit Me® series offers a range of self-fertile fruit and nut trees, grafted onto a brand new dwarf rootstock. These compact mini fruit trees are specially adapted for growing in patio containers over a long period, producing good crops from an early age. Perfect for balconies, terraces, conservatories and small gardens – in fact, anywhere that space is at a premium.

Fruit Me® ‘Necta Me’ uses the freestone variety ‘Sweet Lady’. This superb variety bears top qualty crops of juicy Nectarines for harvesting in August. The red-skinned fruits have firm, yellow flesh with a deliciously sweet flavour. The large, pink blossom in spring makes this an attractive container plant too. With a compact, branching habit, this neat little patio tree is ideal for a sunny, sheltered spot.

  • Peach, Nectarine, Almond and Apricot rootstocks:
  • Rootpac-R - Dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 1m (39")
  • Peach Seedling - Dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2.5m (8')
  • Mont Clare - Semi dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 3m (10')
  • Torrinel - Semi dwarf reaching a mature height of 3m (10')
  • Krymsk 86 - Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 4m (13')
  • St. Julien - Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 4.5m (14')

This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner.

Estimated time to cropping once planted: 2 years.
Estimated time to best yields: 4 years.

Feed and water patio Nectarine trees regularly throughout the growing season. Fruit and nut trees do not suffer weed competition well so keep containers free of weeds. If growing nectarine trees in the ground, keep grass and weeds clear from within a 30cm radius of the base of the tree. To improve fruiting, move Nectarine trees in containers to a cool, bright, frost-free position in the autumn, keeping the compost just moist. Top-dress containers each spring with a slow-release fruit fertiliser. For patio trees grown in the ground, remove any suckers at ground level in spring, and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the tree. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer. Nectarine blossom is particularly susceptible to frost and may require protecting with a layer of horticultural fleece if grown outside.

Like all members of the Prunus family, Nectarines should only be pruned in summer to avoid the risk of bacterial infection. Patio Nectarine trees will require only occasional pruning to remove damaged, badly placed or diseased wood.

Plant patio Nectarine trees in containers holding at least 30 litres of good quality compost such as John Innes No.3. Alternatively plant them in rich fertile, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. A south facing position is preferable to provide the spring flowers with protection from damaging frosts. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and water well.
