How to Grow
Crown Imperial bulbs are particularly fragile and should be handled carefully. Plant Tulip and Fritillary bulbs in late summer or autumn in any fertile, well drained soil. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant bulbs at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.
More Info
After flowering, deadhead the faded flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
