Description

For funky foliage take a look at Coleus 'Stained Glassworks Royalty'! This tender perennial creates an eye-popping focal point. Each variegated leaf has a hot pink centre and dark plummy margin for a powerful colour contrast.

With a vigorous, bushy, rounded habit, this Coleus makes a superb patio plant, filling pots with colour that lasts the whole summer. This showy variety works just as hard in annual beds, or dotted among summer perennials. Versatile and undemanding, it copes beautifully with sun or shade. Perfect for bringing an exotic feel to the garden! Height and spread: 45cm (18").

1 x 2 litre potted coleus plant (KB9872)

How to Grow
Pot up Coleus plug plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise painted nettle plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before transplanting them outdoors into beds, borders and containers. Plant Coleus plants in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in a sunny or semi-shaded position. Solenostemon can also be grown as houseplants, situated on a warm, bright window sill or in a conservatory or heated greenhouse.
More Info
Feed and water Coleus plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Remove any developing flower spikes as they will weaken the plant and cause poor quality foliage. Coleus houseplants should be given full light and a warm position in the winter months. Reduce watering and keep the compost just moist to prevent rotting and fungal diseases developing. Pinch back Solenostemon plants in the spring as growth resumes.
