Description

Cercidiphyllum japonicum f. pendulum is an unusual weeping tree with cascading branches that droop to the ground. Over time, it forms a striking dome shape, adding structure and interest to the garden.

This compact deciduous tree requires little or no pruning. It makes a superb choice for confined spaces, bringing year round interest to the garden. Height and spread: 8m (26’).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Katsura trees in any non alkaline, rich, moist but free draining soil. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or compost into the soil prior to planting. Choose a position in sun or dappled shade with shelter from cold winds.
More Info
Feed and water Katsura Trees regularly until fully established. Once established, katsura require little attention except for the occasional removal of damaged, diseased and misplaced shoots in late autumn and winter. Cercidiphyllum japonicum tends to naturally form several main stems, however it may be trained to have a central leader if desired.
