Description
Camellia japonica 'Berenice Boddy' is a pretty variety that brings a flush of summery pink flowers to the garden on the coldest of winter days! Flowering from as early as late January, this charming variety is perfect for winter gardens or grown as a prominent focal point. Its evergreen foliage and upright habit provide year round structure, making a splendid backdrop for summer flowering shrubs and perennials. Ideal for those cold north facing positions, where it will cope superbly. Height: 4m (13’). Spread: 2.5m (8’).

1 x 10 litre potted camellia plant (KB9213)

How to Grow
Camellia plants require a moist, well drained, acid soil in a sheltered, shaded position. In areas where acid soil does not naturally occur, grow Camellia plants in patio containers using a mix of ericaceous compost and John Innes No. 3 and position in dappled shade.
More Info

Water regularly until plants are fully established. Where possible, use rainwater as the lime contained in tap water will reduce the acidity in the soil over time. Feed Camellias occasionally with fertiliser for acid-loving plants. Protect plants from cold winter winds and strong early morning sunlight, as this may cause the buds to drop in early spring.

Camellias will appreciate an autumn mulch to protect their roots from winter cold. Camellias require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems and remove faded blooms immediately after flowering.
