Boasting large, olive-green leaves shaped like angel’s wings and beautifully decorated with white spots, Begonia maculata 'Wightii' makes a charming houseplant. Dark red leaf undersides and tresses of white flowers with yellow centres add to its appeal. As a humidity-loving rainforest plant, the spotted begonia is an ideal choice for a bathroom or kitchen, and makes a great patio specimen over the summer months. Height: 1m (39in). Spread: 50cm (20in).
Begonias make great shade-tolerant houseplants, offering unique and beautiful foliage and flowers that appear intermittently throughout the year. They can be moved outside during the summer months.

Place your Begonia in a bright spot that is not in direct sunlight – an east or west-facing windowsill is ideal. Water regularly but avoid overwatering or letting the plant sit in water. Aim the water directly onto the compost, avoiding splashing the leaves as much as possible. Feed fortnightly between May and September with a plant food that is high in potassium (for cane-types where abundant flowering is most important) or high in nitrogen (for rex-type or foliage varieties). Reduce watering in winter, allowing the surface of the compost to begin to dry out before watering again. In winter keep your begonias above a minimum temperature of 13°C. Plants can be brought outside in summer once night temperature reliably exceeds this.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
