Description
Astilbe Censation™ 'Glitter & Glamour' sends up large, frothy plumes of candy-floss pink flowers in summer. This elegant perennial forms a rounded clump of handsome, finely cut foliage. Perfect for damp borders, or the moist soil close to the edge of a pond, where it will attract pollinating insects to its nectar rich blooms. This variety also makes a fine cut flower to soften summer bouquets. Height: 70cm (27"). Spread: 50cm (19").

How to Grow
Plant astilbes in sun or dappled shade. Astilbe plants require rich fertile soil that remains permanently moist, even in the height of summer. A boggy soil next to a pond or stream is ideal. On drier soils, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or compost prior to planting and choose a shaded position.
More Info
Water regularly during hot, dry periods to prevent the soil from drying out. Divide over-crowded clumps of astilbe in spring when necessary, to increase their longevity. Apply a mulch around the base of the plant in spring to conserve moisture in the soil.
