Description
Perfect for a wildlife or cottage-style garden, bees and butterflies will adore the nectar-rich flowers of Argemone platyceras. Flaunting impressively huge flowers each measuring up to 15cm (6") across, Prickly Poppy makes a big impact in sunny beds and borders. Easy to grow and drought tolerant, a great choice for gardens with dry, sandy soils. Height: 40cm (16"). Spread: 30cm (12").

1 packet (100 seeds) (KA9949)

Sowing

Sow outdoors where they are to flower from March to May. Prepare the ground well and rake to a fine tilth. Sow 0.5cm (1/4") deep and keep the ground moist after sowing. Once your seeds have germinated, thin the seedlings out so that they are 25cm (10") apart.

More Info
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering. Cut back old foliage to ground level in autumn.
