Description

The variegated leaves of Alstroemeria ‘Little Miss Zoe’ make the leaves as stunning a focal point in the garden as the flowers above them! Create a spectacular display that will last all summer with it's rich orange-red blooms with focal yellow centres, highlighted by the pale creamy yellow leaves edged by dark green to give the flowers a strong contrast which stands out in the garden. Flowers are borne in profusion from June to November, providing a constant supply of cut flowers for summer bouquets. This Peruvian Lily has a compact bushy habit, and is from the dwarf 'Little Miss' series. A lovely choice for a sunny patio or border. Height & Spread: 30cm (12").

How to Grow
Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, plant Peruvian Lilies in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, plant Alstroemeria in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. These tall Alstroemeria plants will appreciate a climbing frame or similar support to protect their tall stems. Insert the support into the ground prior to planting and tie the stems in with soft twine throughout the growing season.

Throughout the growing season, water Peruvian lilies regularly and feed container grown plants each month. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, cut back the old Alstroemeria flower stems and apply a dry mulch of chipped bark or straw to the base of the plant to protect it from cold winter weather. Alstroemeria prefers to be left undisturbed but can be divided in autumn or spring if clumps become overcrowded.
