Carrot & Parsnip Seeds


Round, long, rainbow-coloured, purple or just plain orange - we've got carrots to suit every taste! Try growing carrot-fly resistant varieties for the best chance of a healthy crop. Parsnips are the perfect addition to a Sunday roast and will be even sweeter if you leave them in the ground until after a sharp frost.

Daucus carota

 Perfect for heavier soils and containers! The small, conical roots of Carrot ‘Royal Chantenay’ have broad shoulders and strong foliage making them easier to pull when harvesting. This short carrot can be sown successionally for an ongoing harvest of delicious almost coreless roots. Later sowings in June produce superbly flavoured, main crop roots which store extremely well. Height: 30cm (12”). Spread: 15cm (6”).

Parsnip 'The Student' - Heritage

Pastinaca sativa

 This classic heritage variety dates back to the 1800’s and is still as popular as ever. Parsnip ‘The Student’ produces long, broad shouldered, tapering parsnips with good resistance to canker. The smooth skinned roots have a very narrow core and creamy flesh of a deliciously mild flavour. Height and spread: 45cm (18"). More info
