Head of Stock Control

Head of Stock Control

Responsible for the management of the stock control for Thompson & Morgan ensuring that the accuracy of the stock shown on our system reflects the physical reality, with the key objective of optimising the stock turn for the business. This role is a senior appointment reporting into our CEO. Candidates will need to demonstrate at least 10 years of stock management experience with a proven track record in managing and motivating a stock control team in a fast paced trading environment. Familiarity with ERP systems is essential and a basic knowledge of IFS would be an advantage.

Customer Service Agent

Customer Service Agent

The UK’s most successful mail order and online horticultural company currently has temporary contracts available within the Customer Service team.

As a supplier of horticultural products to the general public, this role involves engaging with our customers via telephone, email, letter and social media, taking orders and assisting customers with their enquiries. The successful candidate will be exceptionally customer-focused, with the ability to communicate at all levels. They should also be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as individually and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment under continually changing workload priorities.

Some horticultural knowledge is beneficial but not essential. Some previous customer service experience is desirable.

Contracts are expected to run until end of June 2015.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Buyer to join the UK’s most successful mail order and online horticultural company, based in Ipswich, Suffolk and mailing in excess of 10 million catalogues each year.

The successful buyer will be required to purchase stock to forecast, in the most cost effective way to maximize margins and minimize wastage. You’ll also need to maintain and improve trust-based relationships with suppliers. The successful Buyer will have demonstrable experience in a similar role. It would be advantageous if this has been within mail order, retail or the horticultural industry.

Key Responsibilities

dentifying sales opportunities in the market place and offering suggestions to our sales team to develop the business.

Ensuring product availabilities are up to date on the system to facilitate the maximum sales opportunities

Managing the purchase orders so that deliveries in are timed correctly to match the customer promise of their purchases
