Working within the trials and breeding division of our nursery site this is a great opportunity for a keen plants person or recently qualified student to work with a wide range of plants for exhibitions, trials and be involved in the growing of plant material for our award winning breeding program.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a busy commercial nursery where plants are produced for sales, as well as for our trials, breeding programs and marketing departments using a wide range of cultural practices.
You will participate in a wide range of tasks from learning the basics through to recording data from our technical trials and plant breeding trials and involvement in the plant breeding process.
A training program will be put together to encompass learning a wide range of horticultural tasks.
The role would ideally suit a newly qualified student looking for a sound practical base from which to build a career within a company that is large enough to allow you future development into other areas of horticulture.
A passion for plants and growing is essential and a formal horticultural qualification would be preferred however demonstrable previous practical experience and a keenness to learn will also be considered.
The successful candidate also will require good literacy and numeracy skills.
