Mailing in excess of 10 million catalogues each year, the UK’s most successful mail order and online horticultural company currently has a full-time opportunity within its marketing team.
Working within our busy marketing department you will be responsible for delivering compelling and accurate copy across a range of media including press releases, catalogue copy, blogs, social media and internal communications. Assisting in re-developing the company’s PR strategy, the successful candidate will take responsibility for improving awareness of the Thompson & Morgan brand by effectively executing the Company’s press communications.
Researching and writing copy for catalogues and online content working to edit, amend and revise copy in response to feedback, along with proof-reading the completed product.
Assisting in the re-development of the company’s internal and external PR strategies, and taking ownership of monitoring and achieving these plans.
Researching, writing and organising all the Company’s press releases and ensuring they are suitably distributed.
Keeping up-to-date with changes, trends and developments in the industry and being pro-active in using this knowledge to further enhance the Company’s press activity plan.
The successful candidate will have exceptional written English, creative flair, an excellent eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
As a department we are often juggling a number of projects - our ideal candidate would be able to adapt to this and have the ability to quickly switch priorities depending on press and catalogue demands to ensure deadlines are met.
A passion for gardening and some horticultural knowledge is beneficial.
Experienced in communicating effectively with a range of internal and external customers at different levels, and producing engaging communications.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) is essential, whilst knowledge of InDesign would be advantageous.
Be flexible regarding working hours in order to achieve deadlines, attend meetings and press events.
