Fuchsia 'Royal Collection'

Half-hardy Shrub

We have selected two very special Fuchsias to commemorate the recent Royal births. The sugar pink blooms of Fuchsia 'Princess Charlotte'. are distinctly shaped, upward facing blooms and the pendulous baby blue blooms of Fuchsia 'Prince George' hang on these compact fuchsia plants and are perfect for patio container displays, or for setting in a table top planter to dress your outdoor dining areas through summer.

Set 'Princess Charlotte' alongside our Fuchsia 'Prince George' for a contrasting, yet complementary pairing in pots and baskets. As with all Thompson & Morgan Fuchsias this cutting edge variety has been selected for UK garden performance, and will thrive in full sun or cool shade, come rain or shine. Height and spread: 40cm (16").

Culinary note: Add the beautiful coloured flowers to salads, crystallise them for a sweet garnish or add them to jellies for an extra splash of colour. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant hardy fuchsias into light, well-drained soil in sun or part shade. When growing in containers, use a quality, well drained compost such as John Innes No.3. Pinch out the growing tips of your fuchsia plants once, to promote bushier growth and more flowers.
Feed and water plants regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded fuchsia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Apply a deep mulch of bark around the base of hardy fuchsias in autumn to protect the roots from winter cold. Take care not to mound mulch up against the main stem. Prune stems back to a low permanent framework in spring.
