Galtonia 'Summer Hyacinth'

As other summer performers are going past their best, our Galtonia bulbs will burst forth to offer an elegant floral display from July through to September. Tall flower spikes produce nodding, bell-shaped flowers of white and green that go on to produce a light but heady scent. Erect strap-like leaves offer an architectural element to planting displays. Make sure to set your Galtonia plants close to seating areas where they can be enjoyed at their best. Nerine bowdenii 'Mister John'

Nerines have become an autumn essential in recent years, they are a must-have for adding the ‘designer’s touch’ to late season planting schemes. While the straight species N. Bowdenii is widely available we are pleased to offer Nerine ‘Mister John’, from the latest breeding programme in Holland, which brings a shocking magenta to the nerine colour pallete. With up to 10 lily-like blooms per stem, this new nerine really stands out from the crowd, providing vibrant colour when other blooms are scarce. The tall clean stems and long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flower subjects. Treat as a container specimen plant or set out in full sun in free draining border soil. Height: 60cm (24"). Spring Flowering Bulb Collection

This collection includes four of the most popular and colourful spring-flowering bulbs: Allium Moly, Oxalis, Anemone de Caen and Brodiaea (25 bulbs of each). Plant them amongst perennials for early colour or in borders and patio pots for a bright display. Supplied as bulbs.

  • Allium moly - A vigorous little allium bearing dense clusters of star-shaped, golden yellow flowers from late spring. Neat clumps of grey-green, strap-like foliage are quick to establish and will rapidly spread to naturalize beneath shrubs and throughout woodland areas. Allium moly is easy to grow, needing little attention throughout the season, and returning in a bigger and better display each year. Bulb size 4/5. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2").
  • Oxalis - This ornamental Shamrock is as versatile as it is pretty. Oxalis tetraphylla 'Iron Cross' is mainly grown for its clover-like, bright green leaves with a dark purple band at the base of each leaflet. From early summer, the distinctive foliage is paired with rosy pink, tubular flowers. Bulb size 4/5. Height and spread: 15cm (6").
  • Anemone 'De Caen' - Silky, long-lasting blooms with delicately cupped petals are carried on individual stems in a vibrant mix of bold colours. These beautiful windflowers are ideal for cutting, but make sure you leave a few in the garden as they will attract pollinating insects to their captivating blooms. Undemanding and easy to grow, this colourful mix of Anemone coronaria 'De Caen' bulbs is perfect for growing in containers or at the front of borders. Bulb size 3/4. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 15cm (6").
  • Brodiaea - A good all rounder, perfect for planting in containers, borders and rockeries. Produces clusters of double funnel shaped blooms in a rich bluish mauve. An easy to grow spring bloomer, excellent for seasonal cut flower displays – stems will last up to two weeks in the vase. Bulb size 4/5.

Snowdrop (Single-flowered)

Galanthus nivalis

Drifts of graceful nodding snowdrops signal winters end with an understated elegance. These native beauties love to shelter in dappled shade at the base of trees and shrubs, but look equally ay home in an alpine garden, or naturalised in grass. Why not try them in window boxes and containers as part of a mixed planting scheme. Versatile and vigorous, they will quickly multiply to create a carpet of honey scented, single-flowered blooms. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 10cm (4").Snowdrop bulbs are ideal for autumn planting. For spring planting choose snowdrops in the green. Only cultivated stock used.

Winter Aconite

Eranthis hyemalis

This woodland member of the buttercup family will swiftly multiply to form a glowing carpet of golden yellow flowers each spring. The cup shaped blooms of the winter aconite attract pollinating insects to your spring garden, and associate beautifully with snowdrops and bluebells for a spectacular woodland display. Easy to establish and virtually maintenance free, Eranthis hyemalis are ideal for planting in the dappled shade of deciduous trees, or naturalised in informal areas of grass. Height: 8cm (3"). Spread: 5cm (2"). Bulb size: 3/4.
Winter aconite bulbs are ideal for autumn planting. For spring planting choose winter aconites bulbs in the green. Only cultivated stock used.
