Sow April to September outdoors, October to March indoors. Sow seed thinly direct outside or in a pot on the windowsill at regular intervals, 13mm (0.5in) deep, in drills 38cm (15in) apart.
Thin seedlings to 23cm (9in) apart, or leave unthinned as baby salad leaves.
Keep well watered during dry weather.
