Second Early


Second early potatoes should be planted up from March to late May and the small, new potatoes will be ready to harvest in approximately 13 weeks. They will benefit from 'chitting'before planting and can be grown either in the ground or in potato patio planters.

Potato 'Jazzy'

Solanum tuberosum

  • New and improved salad potato
  • We guarantee 35 potatoes per plant. However, customers have reported up to 80 potatoes per plant.

Second early.

The small potato that packs a big punch! We've been amazed by the enormous yields that this Potato 'Jazzy' produced in our trials - both in the ground and in potato bags. The small waxy tubers are much more versatile than other salad potatoes and literally bursting with flavour - whether you boil, mash, roast or steam them. This exciting new second early variety has been awarded an RHS AGM for its superb garden performance. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

Potato 'Shetland Black'

Solanum tuberosum

Second early.

Shallow eyed tubers with dark blue to almost black skin, and pale yellow floury flesh with a distinctive purple vascular ring. Potato Shetland Black is a general purpose, Victorian second early variety for baking, roasting or steaming. Height and spread: 60cm (24").
