Description

Vicia faba. Compact, upright plant habit, and producing early setting of short, slender pods. Pick regularly for delicious 'mangetout' pods to eat raw or steamed, or allow pods to fill out with tasty small beans. Broad Bean Statissa is ideal in containers.

Sowing Instructions

Sow seeds from March to May. Sow seeds thinly direct outside or in containers, 3cm (1in) deep in rows 45cm (18in) apart. Alternatively space sow seeds in a bucket-sized container.

Growing Instructions

As plants mature they may require staking with hazel twigs or canes to help support the crop.

Aftercare

Keep well watered during dry weather.
