Poached Egg Plant

Hardy Annual

The Fried Egg or Poached Egg plant will attract hoverflies to your garden to beat the aphids. Bees also love this low, spreading carpet of fragrant golden and white blooms that will grace the front of the border, rockery or path edging.

Ideal For:
patio, ground cover, cottage gardens, alpine & rockery, wildlife gardens, coastal garden
Flowering Period:
June, July, August, September
Sowing Months:
April, May, September, October
Position:
full sun
    • 1 packet (150 seeds)

    •
    • Despatch: Within 3 days
    • £2.69
Best sown where they are to flower in spring or late summer/early autumn for overwintering. Sow 3mm (1/8in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart in well cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine tilth.

Thin out the seedlings to 10cm (4in) apart.

They prefer full sun and a cool moist root run and because of this do very well when grown as an edging to paths. For very attractive winter/early spring flowering pot plants in a cool greenhouse or conservatory sow from mid summer to early autumn.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes etc are delivered at the appropriate time for planting and will be stated on the product page or in your order acknowledgement page and email.

Orders for packets of seed incur a P&P charge of £1.95.

  1. Not poached egg!

    By Belinda Barker 03-07-2014

These flowers are really pretty and I have a mix of white and yellow flowers but not one is like a poached egg as shown in the picture.

  2. Only yellow flowers

    By Carol Stock 22-06-2014

Planted these this year and they are now flowering. They look good but not a jot of white among them which is a shame. The hover flies love them so they get 3 stars.
