Sow January to March. Germinate at 20-30C (68-86F) on the surface of a good free draining, damp seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 23-30cm (9-12in) apart.

Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage further blooming.

Reviews
  1. No flowers

    By Su Fo 08-10-2016

I tried these seeds twice. The first time, there were very few seeds in the packet --- only 7, instead of 20 and I had one plant from it. The plant is looking healthy (would be over a year old now) but has never flowered. The second time, there were also less than 20 seeds (I can't remember how many). Anyway, I had three plants that germinated. The plants are healthy, and I've tried growing them in different containers and placed them in different areas of my garden, but none have flowered. What am I doing wrong?
