 Customer Rating
A superb dwarf sweet pea that carpets the ground with a kaleidoscope of colour and fragrance! These bushy plants make superb groundcover and unlike other non-climbing varieties, the plants of Sweet Pea ‘Snoopea’ have reduced tendrils so the plant remains neat and compact. This versatile variety is equally useful for basket, containers and window boxes. Height and spread: 30cm (12”).

Pot up and grow sweet pea plants on in cool, bright conditions until large enough to transplant outdoors. Pinch out the growing tips of sweet pea plants while they are still small, to encourage bushy growth. When plants are well grown transplant them outdoors into any fertile, well drained garden soil in full sun or semi-shade.
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. When growing sweet peas it is essential to cut the flower stems frequently and deadhead faded blooms to prevent seedpods developing. This will encourage more blooms to be produced and extend the flowering period throughout summer. Caution: Sweet pea seeds are harmful if eaten.

  1. Fabulous window boxes

    By Ali Davidson 06-07-2011

I love my Snoopea plants. I have filled three window boxes with them and they are just coming into flower now. The plants are all healthy. I have had one 'rogue' plant that has grown up like a regular sweet pea but I just transplanted that into my sweet peas for cutting. The window boxes should look stunning by next week as every plant is covered in groups of flowerheads just waiting to open. Every morning when I wake up, I dash over the check to see if they are open yet. Great value for money and I will be buying again for next year.

  2. Plants not as described in catalogue

    By John Greenham 04-07-2011

I wanted some low, bushy plants with lots of flowere and scent for a raised bed at the side of a terrace. I chose Snoopea based on the description and picture in the T&M catalogue and ordered 42 plugs. The plugs arrived in good condition and all survived potting on and later planting out. Over one third of the plants appear to be vigorous climbers and are currently about 5 feet tall and still growing, but with some nice flowers. The rest are about 10 inches tall and bushy with very few flowers. All plants have a mass of tendrils which are wrapping around each other and constricting leaves and blooms. This is very dissapointing as the overall appearance is untidy and straggly and a long way from the effect I was aiming for.
