Pot up petunia plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions for transplanting later on. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before transplanting them outdoors into baskets, window boxes and containers in well drained soil, in full sun.
Feed and water petunia plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. Regular deadheading of petunia flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.

They are absolutely beautiful.I still have them in the greenhouse as the other plants are not ready to go in the hanging basket yet.Their scent is really lovely. Will definitely buy again, especially from Thompson and Morgan.D.Walker.
Best basket plant for full sun

I've been growing this collection for 3 years now in two baskets on a south facing wall. Even in last years cloudy, wet summer, they still performed really well. They were the only baskets to recover quickly from a severe hail storm that came last July. I have two huge 18 inch baskets which each take ten of these plants, which fill out to ball of two and a half foot, so many flowers you can barely see the leaves. Rather than feed weekly I give mine a very weak feed at every daily watering and they seem to appreciate this. This is a top performing choice.
